WEEKLY LECTIONARY BIBLE STUDY
Time: TBA
Dates: TBA
Leader: rotating facilitators
Meditation on the Scripture opens us up to God’s working in the world. Throughout the seasons of Epiphany and Lent, we will offer weekly small-group exploration of the scripture passages that will be read during the following Sunday’s service. Every week’s lectionary includes four texts, one each from the Hebrew Scriptures, the Psalms, the Epistles, and the Gospels. The aim of this Bible Study will be to understand the different genres and historical periods of scriptural writing, and to enrich our appreciation of the weekly readings in advance of Sunday’s service. We will also examine how our lives intersect with the text. For more information, please contact Elise Harris at eharris99@yahoo.com.

MONEY AND FAITH DISCUSSION CIRCLE
Time: Sundays 9:15-10:30 a.m.
Dates: Jan. 13 - Feb. 3
Leader: Herb Miller
This four-week class will explore how our faith influences how we use money. Whether we have a little or a lot, money is a major issue in our lives. We wrestle with the question of how much is enough. Some of us struggle to get by; others of us throw money away. Some of us live with guilt around how we use money, and others have given little serious thought to how we use it. “Money is a deep paradox—it enslaves, yet it also frees; it is intensely private, but it is also very public; it measures worth, yet it is no measure of real worth.” (Jan Dockter). The discussion-style class will be structured around Scripture and other thought-provoking readings
